Trainee Contract Recruitment Consultant

Trainee Contract Recruitment Consultant – Technology | develop

Join develop as a Trainee Contract Recruitment Consultant and learn how to build high‐performing software engineering and technology teams across the UK, US and Europe. You will start from the ground up, with full training, and grow into running your own contract recruitment desk in a high‐performance, high‐reward environment.

Why develop?

We set high standards and back them up with serious training, support and progression. Every consultant learns the basics of coding so you can understand the roles you are recruiting for and speak your clients’ and candidates’ language. You will get weekly training, a clear promotion plan and a grown‐up culture where you are trusted, pushed and rewarded.

What you will be doing

From day one you will be on the phones, learning how to win business and place contractors into tech roles. You will:

  • Learn how to build and manage relationships with hiring managers and candidates.
  • Support senior consultants with sourcing contractors, shortlisting and interview coordination.
  • Write adverts and outreach messages that attract ambitious tech professionals.
  • Use tools such as LinkedIn, job boards and our CRM to build candidate networks and talent pools.
  • Over time, take on your own roles and start to manage the full recruitment process from briefing to offer and aftercare.

What you will bring

You do not need recruitment experience, but you do need:

  • A strong work ethic and evidence you have pushed yourself in work, study, sport or similar.
  • Confidence on the phone and the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • High intelligence, curiosity and the willingness to learn complex markets.
  • A competitive, resilient mindset and comfort working to targets.
  • A team‐first attitude and a genuine interest in technology and business.

What you will get

You will join a fast‐growing business with a competitive starting salary, uncapped commission, private healthcare, 25 days’ holiday, weekly training, incentive trips, quarterly top‐performer lunches, a 4pm Friday finish and access to a share scheme once you qualify.

If you are ambitious, competitive and want a career where what you put in directly impacts what you get out, this could be the right place to start.
