The Opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing, VC-backed eCommerce scale-up based in London, building a next-gen platform powering some of the UK’s most exciting digital-first brands. With strong revenue, a rapidly growing customer base, and ambitious plans, they’re looking to scale their core engineering team.

We’re hiring a Senior .NET Software Engineer to help evolve and scale the platform as it enters its next growth phase. This role offers a mix of hands-on engineering and technical leadership, and is perfect for someone who thrives in fast-paced, product-driven environments.

This is a full-time hybrid position, with just 1 day a week on-site in their central London office.

Tech Stack

  • C# / .NET Core / ASP.NET
  • RESTful APIs / Microservices
  • SQL Server, Entity Framework
  • Azure (App Services, Functions, DevOps)
  • CI/CD: Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
  • Optional: React, Vue (frontend exposure)

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the design and development of scalable backend services and APIs
  • Collaborating with product, DevOps, and frontend teams on new features and improvements
  • Shaping architectural decisions as the platform scales
  • Championing code quality, performance, and reliability across the stack
  • Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to engineering culture
  • Owning delivery of high-impact features tied to real-world eCommerce outcomes

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years’ experience with .NET (C#, .NET Core)
  • Proven ability to design and scale backend systems in high-traffic environments
  • Experience working in product-led or transactional platforms (eCommerce, SaaS, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Agile, and DevOps practices
  • A collaborative mindset and product-first thinking
  • London-based or able to commute in once per week

Nice to Have

  • Experience with payment, order, or inventory systems
  • Exposure to containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Some frontend knowledge (React, Vue, or Blazor)
  • Previous experience in a scale-up or rapid-growth tech environment
