Our client are a large, purpose-driven organisation undergoing a significant digital transformation, and they’re looking for an Applications Lead to take ownership of a broad and business-critical application estate.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll sit at the intersection of technology and the wider business, ensuring key systems are stable, optimised, and continuously evolving to meet operational needs.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the performance, reliability, and strategic direction of multiple enterprise applications, working closely with internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers to drive improvements and deliver value.

This isn’t just support. It’s ownership.

You’ll play a key role in shaping how applications are used, improved, and integrated across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage a portfolio of business-critical applications
  • Act as the primary point of contact between users, suppliers, and technical teams
  • Drive system improvements, upgrades, and change initiatives
  • Manage third-party vendors, SLAs, and service performance
  • Identify opportunities to streamline systems and reduce duplication
  • Ensure applications meet security, compliance, and operational standards
  • Support incident resolution and continuous service improvement
  • Work closely with leadership to align systems with business goals

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience managing enterprise applications in a complex environment
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers and managing service delivery
  • Good understanding of IT service management (ITIL or similar)
  • A proactive mindset – someone who takes ownership and drives change
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, evolving environment
