Business Applications Manager (Enterprise Systems)
London (Woolwich) – 4 days onsite / 1 day WFH
Up to £55,000
Overview
Our client, a large and purpose-driven organisation, is undergoing a major digital transformation and is looking for a Business Applications Manager to take ownership of a diverse, business-critical application estate.
This is a hands-on ownership role, sitting between technology and the wider business. You’ll be responsible for ensuring core systems are stable, well-managed, and continuously improved to support operational performance.
This is not a support role.
This is about ownership, direction, and driving change.
The Role
You’ll take full responsibility for a portfolio of enterprise applications, acting as the central point of coordination across internal teams, stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
You’ll play a key role in shaping how systems are used across the organisation, identifying improvements, reducing inefficiencies, and ensuring platforms deliver real business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage a portfolio of business-critical enterprise applications
- Act as the bridge between business users, technical teams, and external suppliers
- Drive system improvements, upgrades, and change initiatives
- Manage third-party vendors, SLAs, and overall service performance
- Identify opportunities to streamline systems and reduce duplication across the estate
- Ensure applications meet security, compliance, and operational standards
- Support incident resolution and continuous service improvement
- Work closely with senior stakeholders to align systems with business objectives
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience managing enterprise applications within a complex environment
- Strong stakeholder engagement across both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience managing third-party suppliers and service delivery (SLAs, performance)
- Good understanding of IT service management principles (ITIL or similar)
- A proactive, ownership-led mindset — someone who improves rather than maintains
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Why This Role?
- High-visibility role with real ownership across a critical systems estate
- Opportunity to shape how applications are used across a large organisation
- Join a collaborative, transformation-focused technology function
- A role where your input directly impacts operational effectiveness
Final Note
This role suits someone who enjoys taking control of systems, improving how things work, and making a tangible impact — not just keeping the lights on.
