The Opportunity
A large UK based business operating within the automotive and financial services sector is looking to engage a Contract Architect to conduct a comprehensive review of a complex technology estate supporting a key lending and portfolio management platform.
The environment has evolved over time and now consists of a mixture of financial platforms, CRM systems, marketing platforms and numerous third party integrations.
This engagement will focus on understanding the current architecture, identifying operational risks and recommending improvements that will help stabilise the estate and guide future investment decisions.
The role is focused on architecture discovery, integration analysis and risk assessment, rather than hands on engineering or cloud platform redesign.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct a full architecture assessment of a complex technology estate
• Analyse platforms including financial systems, CRM platforms and marketing technologies
• Map API integrations, data flows and SFTP integrations across 20 to 30 third party systems
• Identify operational risks, technical debt and system dependencies
• Highlight quick win improvements that can reduce complexity or improve stability
• Document the current state architecture and integration landscape
• Provide recommendations for stabilisation, optimisation and future modernisation
• Work closely with local teams and senior technology stakeholders
• Present findings and recommendations to senior business and technology leadership
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a pragmatic and experienced architect who is comfortable navigating complex environments with limited documentation.
Strong experience working within financial services or lending environments would be highly advantageous.
Key experience includes:
• Enterprise or Integration Architecture experience
• Strong understanding of API driven architectures and system integrations
• Experience analysing complex legacy estates
• Ability to map and understand multiple third party integrations and data flows
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and delivering clear recommendations
Nice to have:
• Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce
• Exposure to financial services platforms or lending systems
• Experience working with integration heavy technology estates

Over the six month engagement the architect will deliver:
• A current state architecture assessment
• Mapping of integration points and system dependencies
• Identification of operational and technical risks
• Quick win improvements to stabilise the estate
• Strategic recommendations for future technology investment and modernisation
