Theyre building an enterprise-scale, next-generation platform that will unify a suite of digital products into a single, shared ecosystem built for resilience, performance, and speed of delivery. As Principal Solution Architect , youll play a pivotal role in designing and delivering cloud-native, event-driven solutions across AWS and Azure. Youll collaborate with senior engineering and product leaders, define architectural standards, rationalise legacy systems, and drive the adoption of modern technologies that enable secure, scalable, and future-ready software delivery.

This position combines strategic influence with hands-on technical depth. Youll lead by example, prototype solutions, mentor engineers, and act as a trusted voice in technical decision-making bringing clarity and cohesion to a complex technology landscape.

What youll be doing

  • Designing and delivering enterprise-grade SaaS architectures for performance, scalability, and security.
  • Leading design discussions, setting standards, and ensuring alignment across multiple product teams.
  • Driving the modernisation of legacy systems and enabling reusable, API-first architectures.
  • Partnering with engineering, product, and security functions to ensure architecture meets strategic objectives.
  • Supporting delivery teams hands-on when required, validating approaches and promoting engineering excellence.
  • Defining and communicating the architectural roadmap and long-term technology vision.

What youll bring

  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect or Principal Engineer within a complex, large-scale software environment.
  • Strong background in .NET, cloud-native development (AWS or Azure) , and event-driven microservices .
  • Deep understanding of API design, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) , and SQL/NoSQL database technologies.
  • A passion for simplification, scalability, and pragmatic delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business audiences.
  • Hands-on, delivery-focused approach you take ownership from design through to production.
