Salary: Up to £105,000 base + up to 30% bonus + car allowance
Location: Central Manchester (occasional travel to Birmingham – typically one day when required)
The Opportunity
Our client is a well-established enterprise SaaS organisation operating at significant scale, currently investing heavily in the continued evolution of its technology platform.
They are looking to appoint an experienced Solution Architect to play a key role in shaping how the platform develops over the coming years as new capabilities, services and integrations are introduced.
This is an organisation where technology is central to the business. The engineering teams build and operate complex digital platforms used daily by thousands of organisations, meaning architecture decisions have genuine long-term impact.
The successful architect will have the opportunity to influence how the platform evolves while working closely with highly capable engineering teams in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment.
The Role
As a Solution Architect, you will sit at the heart of engineering delivery, partnering with product and development teams to design scalable solutions and ensure architectural integrity across the platform.
Our client is specifically looking for someone who has come from a hands-on engineering background and remains comfortable engaging deeply with technology and development teams.
This is not a detached governance position — it is a role for an architect who enjoys working closely with engineers, helping shape systems that are built to operate at enterprise scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Define solution architectures for new platform capabilities and services
- Work closely with engineering teams to translate architecture into working software
- Design and guide cloud-native, service-based solutions
- Shape API and integration strategies across the platform ecosystem
- Ensure solutions meet key non-functional requirements including resilience, performance and security
- Support engineering teams throughout delivery, providing architectural guidance and technical leadership
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the organisation’s architecture standards and practices
Technology Environment
Our client operates within a modern cloud-first engineering environment, focused on scalable distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.
Typical technologies include:
- .NET / C# backend services
- AWS cloud platform
- Microservices architectures

- CI/CD and DevOps practices
The successful candidate will ideally have progressed from a strong hands-on .NET engineering background and will be comfortable operating within modern cloud platforms.

What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience operating as a Solution Architect within complex software environments
- A background as a hands-on .NET engineer

- Ability to balance technical depth with pragmatic delivery

- Up to £105,000 base salary
