IT Support Engineer - 1st & 2nd Line
Are you an IT support professional who enjoys solving problems, helping people and getting involved with a broad range of systems and technology?
Our client is looking for an IT Support Engineer to join their growing business in Bracknell. Working closely with the IT Manager, you'll provide first and second-line support across the company while helping to keep its systems, devices and day-to-day IT operations running smoothly.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll be supporting colleagues, administering Microsoft 365 and business systems, setting up equipment and user accounts, troubleshooting technical issues and helping improve the processes behind a growing organisation.
It's an excellent opportunity for someone with IT support experience who is ready to broaden their technical knowledge, take on more responsibility and continue developing their skills.
What you'll be doing
As the IT Support Engineer, you'll be a key point of contact for colleagues across the business, taking ownership of day-to-day IT queries and providing practical, friendly support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing first and second-line support across hardware, software, connectivity, printing, meeting rooms and mobile devices
- Setting up and configuring laptops, desktops, phones and other equipment, including enrolling Windows devices using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot and supporting Apple devices through MDM
- Managing IT requirements for joiners, movers and leavers, including Microsoft Entra ID accounts, licences, groups, mailboxes, Teams access and MFA
- Provisioning and managing access to business systems including NetSuite, Shopify and Sigma
- Maintaining the company's hardware asset register, warranties and stock of equipment
- Supporting the 3CX telephony platform and providing first-line support for the company's UniFi office network
- Monitoring important operational data processes and investigating failed, rejected or mismatched records
- Supporting GDPR requests, user-access reviews and good security practices around devices, access and account offboarding
- Creating clear internal documentation and identifying repetitive or inefficient processes where improvements can be made
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is naturally curious about technology, enjoys working through problems logically and is comfortable being the person colleagues turn to when something isn't working.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within an IT support environment
- Good knowledge of Windows and confidence supporting macOS users
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting computers, devices and peripherals
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, including user accounts, licensing, Exchange Online, Teams and SharePoint
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate issues logically from start to finish
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical colleagues
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing requests
Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys learning, takes ownership and is happy working in a busy, growing business where no two days are quite the same.
About the hours and rewards
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.30pm, primarily from our client's Bracknell office with one flexible day working from home. You'll receive:
- £32,000 - £35,000 per annum depending on experience
- 20 days' holiday plus bank holidays
- Company discount
- Office engagement events
- In-house training and development
- Workplace pension
- Free on-site parking
