Project Overview:
Join the Preventative Risking (PR) team responsible for managing the risk and compliance referral processes for Self-Assessment (SA) registrations. The system currently identifies ~200,000 fraudulent registrations out of 1 million, preventing £51M-£219M in lost SA repayment claims (2021/2022). The role involves supporting the development and delivery of automated data ingestion and risk assessment within the SAS platform, leveraging multiple data sources and modern ETL, analytics, and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy data integration and transformation solutions using Pentaho, Talend, Denodo, and SAS.

• Build scalable data pipelines and services for Business Intelligence and analytics platforms.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver robust data solutions.

• Champion Agile/Scrum methodologies, ensuring sprint delivery and continuous improvement.

• Implement DevOps practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and deployment.

• Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence.

• Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards.

• Troubleshoot complex data issues and optimize performance.

Key Skills:

• SAS 9.4 (DI), SAS Viya 3.x (Studio, VA, VI)

• ETL tools: Pentaho, Talend

• Data virtualization: Denodo

• Version control: GIT

• DevOps tools: Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes

• SQL and data modelling expertise

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum frameworks

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills

Qualifications:

• Proven track record in data projects and team delivery

• Certifications in Agile/Scrum, DevOps, or relevant data technologies are a plus
