Role Title: Network Engineer
Location: Wokingham (Hybrid - 3 days onsite/2 days Home)
Duration: 26/06/2026
Rate: £456/day on umbrella

Role Description:

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Implementation: Plan, configure, and deploy network solutions (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN) to meet business requirements.
Maintenance & Optimization: Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime and efficiency.
Security: Implement and maintain network security measures, including Firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls.
Documentation: Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams and vendors to support infrastructure projects and resolve escalated issues.
Upgrades & Patching: Perform regular updates and patches to network hardware and software.
Incident Response: Respond to network outages and security incidents promptly and effectively.

Strong knowledge of:

• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
• Network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, or similar).
• Firewalls and security appliances.
• Experience with network monitoring tools (eg, SolarWinds, Nagios).
• Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Relevant certifications (CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent).
