Location: Telford,
Work mode: Hybrid 2 days onsite per week Wednesdays and Thursdays,
Duration: 6 months initially
Rate: £14.3 per hour (PAYE through Umbrella)
Job Description:

A specialist team responsible for ensuring that all new joiners meet the rigorous compliance, security, and onboarding requirements necessary to support one of the UK's largest government accounts.

The team is responsible for BPSS (pre-employment checks) compliance, right-to-work validation, DBS processing, onboarding governance, and ensuring resources are ready to start on time.

As an Onboarding Compliance Administrator, you will play a key role in safeguarding compliance standards, managing critical onboarding activities, and delivering a positive onboarding experience for new starters.

Working within a fast-paced and highly regulated environment, you will collaborate with candidates, agencies, hiring managers, and internal stakeholders to ensure onboarding activities are completed accurately, compliantly, and within agreed service levels.

Key Responsibilities

Manage onboarding cases from initiation through to completion, ensuring compliance and business requirements are met.

Maintain compliance with BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard), right-to-work, security, and onboarding requirements, ensuring all activities meet internal and client standards.

Review, validate, and process onboarding documentation, including passports, visas, criminal record information, and employment references.

Arrange and facilitate identity verification sessions with candidates and resources.

Process criminal record checks (including DBS & DS) and other pre-employment screening activities.

Accurately update onboarding and security systems, always ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.

Process requests for accounts, equipment, and access permissions to support successful onboarding.

Build and maintain effective working relationships with candidates, recruitment agencies, hiring managers, project teams, and internal support functions.

Identify onboarding risks, compliance concerns, and process issues, taking proactive action to resolve them and minimise delays.

Manage multiple onboarding cases simultaneously while maintaining high levels of accuracy and meeting service level agreements.

Handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost professionalism and discretion.

Produce reports, complete validation activities, and support compliance monitoring as required.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and the onboarding experience.

Support wider onboarding, compliance, and transformation projects as required.
Essential Skills and Experience

Previous experience in an administration, compliance, onboarding, recruitment, HR, vetting, or operational support role.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Strong organisational and workload management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.

Experience handling confidential and sensitive information appropriately.

Ability to follow established processes while identifying opportunities for improvement.

Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.

A collaborative team player who can build positive working relationships across multiple teams.
Desirable Skills and Experience

Experience processing BPSS, DBS, right-to-work, security screening, or pre-employment checks.

Experience working within a compliance, security, governance, or regulated environment.

Knowledge of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and operational performance targets.

Experience maintaining records across multiple systems and databases.

Experience supporting process improvement or continuous improvement initiatives.
