Role Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Payments Business Analyst with strong experience in API integration and a solid understanding of the Payments domain. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring seamless delivery of payment solutions and API-driven integrations.

Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Analysis

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand payment workflows, transaction processing, and integration needs.
  • Document functional and non-functional requirements for APIs and payment systems.

API Integration

  • Work closely with engineering teams to design and validate API specifications (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML).
  • Ensure API documentation is clear and aligns with business requirements.

Payments Domain Expertise

  • Analyze payment gateways, card networks, digital wallets, and Real Time payment systems.
  • Understand compliance requirements (PCI DSS, PSD2, tokenization, fraud prevention).

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a liaison between product, technology, and operations teams.
  • Conduct workshops, demos, and training sessions for stakeholders.

Testing & Validation

  • Support UAT and SIT phases by validating API responses and payment flows.
  • Ensure data integrity and transaction accuracy across integrated systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of API design principles and integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with tools like Postman, Swagger, and API monitoring solutions.
  • Knowledge of payment processing systems, gateways, and settlement processes.

Domain Expertise

  • Hands-on experience in Payments industry (cards, wallets, UPI, ACH, etc.).
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, PSD2).

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with IS8583, Open Banking APIs, or Real Time payment systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA or Confluence.
