Job Description – Business Analyst - Financial Crime
Location: Northampton (2-3 days onsite)
Duration: 31/12/2026
Pay Rate: £358 per day all-in (PAYE through Umbrella)
Role Purpose
The Business Analyst supports the successful delivery of Financial Crime change initiatives across KYC, AML, Sanctions, Onboarding and wider regulatory or control‐focused workstreams. The role is responsible for requirements analysis, process mapping, impact assessment, and supporting well‐controlled delivery. The BA4 collaborates closely with SMEs, Product Owners, Compliance, Technology and Operations to ensure change is clear, high‐quality, and aligned to business and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements
- Support definition of project scope, analysis approach and required BA artefacts.
- Conduct structured requirements gathering via workshops, interviews and document review.
- Produce clear, testable requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure requirements reflect regulatory obligations, policy standards and business outcomes.
- Maintain full traceability across design, development and testing.
Process & Control Analysis
- Document accurate As‐Is processes and control environments.
- Support design of To‐Be processes, focusing on efficiency, clarity and control uplift.
- Identify process gaps, risks, dependencies and improvement opportunities.
- Provide structured analysis to support decisions on control enhancements and remediation.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Engage stakeholders across Financial Crime, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Technology.
- Support workshops, playbacks, and requirement review sessions.
- Capture and track stakeholder feedback, ensuring issues are resolved promptly.
- Communicate analysis outcomes clearly for both technical and non‐technical audiences.
Delivery & Change Support
- Support development and testing teams to ensure correct interpretation of requirements.
- Review test coverage, validate expected outcomes and support defect triage.
- Contribute to impact assessments across systems, processes and operational teams.
- Support change adoption activities including training inputs, procedure updates and readiness tasks.

Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in business analysis within change or regulatory environments.
- Strong requirements gathering, process mapping and documentation skills.
- Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements and user stories.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with multi‐discipline teams.
- Understanding of Financial Crime concepts (e.g., KYC, AML, CDD) or regulated processes.

Desirable Skills
- Experience with Financial Crime regulatory change, policy interpretation or control design.
- Exposure to operating model analysis, workflow design or enterprise process modelling.
- Familiarity with BA toolsets such as JIRA, Confluence and Visio.
- Experience in control remediation, risk reduction, or regulatory uplift programmes.
