Job Summary
We are looking for a System Administrator to support and maintain a Software Development Lab environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of infrastructure supporting software development, testing, and validation activities.
This role involves managing virtualization platforms, Windows domain services, air-gapped environments, backup systems, and lab infrastructure while collaborating closely with engineering teams to deliver a secure and efficient technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain lab infrastructure including servers, virtual machines, networking equipment, and storage systems.
- Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar technologies.
- Support Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy administration.
- Maintain secure and isolated air-gapped systems and ensure compliance with internal security procedures.
- Implement and monitor backup and recovery processes to ensure system reliability and data integrity.
- Perform system patching, updates, and hardening activities.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, virtualization, and network-related issues.
- Support engineering teams with provisioning and maintaining lab resources.
- Monitor system performance, storage, and resource utilization.
- Maintain technical documentation including configurations, procedures, and inventories.
- Ensure compliance with IT security and access control standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the lab environment.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in System Administration within enterprise or engineering environments.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and Active Directory.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Understanding of backup, recovery, and system security practices.
- Experience working with isolated or air-gapped environments is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate technical documentation.
- E xcellent communication and collaboration skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
