3rd Line Engineer (Azure, Automation & VMware

Location: Enfield North London with parking

Job Type: Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days homeworking)

Salary: up to £55K + Bonus + package

We are looking for an experienced 3rd Line Engineer to join our clients IT team, providing high-level technical support and playing a key role in the design, automation, and improvement of their infrastructure across cloud and on-Prem environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a senior escalation point for 3rd line technical issues

• Design, support, and optimise Azure cloud services

• Maintain and support on-prem infrastructure, including Servers, storage, and networking

• Manage and support VMware environments (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)

• Develop and maintain automation solutions to improve efficiency and reliability

• Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure projects

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in a 3rd Line/Senior Infrastructure Engineer role

• Proven hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure

• O n-Prem infrastructure knowledge (Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy)

• Strong VMware experience

• Experience with automation tools and Scripting (PowerShell, ARM/Bicep, Terraform, or similar)

• Good understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, Firewalls, VPNs)

• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring solutions

Desirable Skills

• Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, etc.)

• Experience with hybrid cloud environments

• Exposure to DevOps practices or CI/CD pipelines

• Security and compliance knowledge
