Location: South west England (2-days per week)

Day Rate: £800–£900 (Inside IR35)

Duration: Initial 6 months (long-term programme)

We’re supporting a major transformation programme within a leading financial services organisation, seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to play a key role in shaping resilient, future-ready platforms.

This is a high-impact position within a multi-year (2-year) transformation programme, initially offered as a 6-month contract, with strong likelihood of extension.

🔍 The Role

As an Infrastructure Architect, you’ll take ownership of critical initiatives focused on:

  • Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery strategy
  • Platform resilience and transformation across cloud environments
  • Driving architectural standards across complex systems
  • Collaborating with application owners to define and improve service resilience

You’ll operate at a senior level, helping steer architectural direction while engaging both technical and business stakeholders.

🧰 Tech Environment

  • AWS (primary cloud platform)
  • Snowflake
  • ETL tools and data platforms
  • AWS native services (including resilience tooling such as AWS Resilience Hub)
  • Exposure to Azure environments

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Lead or Senior Infrastructure Architect
  • Strong infrastructure background (not software-led)
  • Deep expertise in AWS architecture & resilience
  • Solid working knowledge of Azure
  • Experience within financial services
  • Ability to define, drive, and communicate architectural standards

Certifications required:

  • TOGAF
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • AWS DevOps (Professional level)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Snowflake and modern data platforms
  • Exposure to value stream models (especially platform-led environments)
  • Comfortable leading stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical teams
