Contract Manager
About the Role
As the Contract / Bid Manager (CM) acts as the single point of contact within the Business Unit for the full bid and contract lifecycle, from opportunity qualification through tender submission, negotiation, delivery, governance, renewals and change management. Positioned closely with legal, commercial and operational functions, the role brings together deal strategy, pricing coordination and risk assessment to keep submissions both competitive and compliant.
The CM works extensively with Sales, Operations, Finance, Product and Legal, acting as the central coordinator for commercial and contract related activities within the assigned Business Unit or cluster, and reports directly to the Legal department.
The role is remote and UK based

Areas of Responsibility
Contract and Bid Management
- Lead the commercial workstream for RFP, RFI and RFQ responses, coordinating input from Sales, Delivery, Finance and Legal.
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts, amendments and renewals under Legal Counsel supervision.
- Coordinate pricing inputs, align with financial models and margin targets, and support submission of compliant, competitive proposals.
- Negotiate terms and coordinate approvals for bonds, guarantees and other tender requirements.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the main point of contact for Legal, Sales, Finance and Delivery on contracts and bids.
- Prepare management briefings, contract materials and risk assessments.
- Clarify responsibilities, commercial guidelines and escalation routes across departments.
- Keep stakeholders informed of relevant legislative or contract changes.
Process and Governance
- Ensure all bids follow internal approval workflows and financial governance requirements.
- Support maintenance of contract and tender repositories, dashboards and KPI tracking.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of templates, pricing tools and contracting playbooks.
- Provide early warning of potential issues and escalate as needed.
About you
You bring solid experience in bid management or contract administration, combined with strong commercial acumen and the confidence to lead negotiations with senior stakeholders.
Must haves
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Commercial Management, Law or a related field.
- 3 to 6 years of experience in bid management, commercial project management or contract administration.
- Strong understanding of commercial modelling, pricing structures and margin drivers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word essential), SharePoint and CLM tools.
- Expertise in contract drafting, review and negotiation principles.
- Strong negotiation, communication and cross functional coordination skills.
You are proactive, well organised and solution oriented, comfortable working independently while knowing when to escalate. You influence without authority, build consensus across functions, and communicate confidently with senior stakeholders and customers.
Practical
Based within the assigned business region, with flexible or hybrid working depending on the entity. Occasional travel may be required to support training, negotiations or cross entity coordination.
