The role will Lead Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) for Global Corporate & Institutional Banking and international business units. Oversee risk identification, assessment, controls, and remediation across multiple regions and product lines. Provide guidance and challenge to first-line risk owners, embed ERM frameworks, define risk appetite, and ensure effective risk governance. Represent ERM to senior stakeholders and regulators, and lead multi-location teams to drive consistent risk management practices globally.
Main Responsibilities:
Provide subject matter expertise to support First Line of Defense activities.
Define and implement the Active Risk Management approach.
Oversee the adoption of the Risk Management Framework across all risk types.
Establish a Risk Appetite Statement aligned with strategic priorities.
Monitor risk trends and develop mitigating strategies.
Conduct reviews of internal and external events to derive insights.
Ensure the effectiveness of internal control activities is properly monitored.
Conduct thematic analysis and risk reporting.
Evaluate the control environment from an ERM perspective.
Manage ERM Risk Governance effectively.
Key Requirements:
Deep understanding of financial institutions and key regulatory frameworks.
Experience in Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) and international markets.
Proven expertise in risk management within a Globally Significant Financial Institution (GSFI).
Strong understanding of business processes, controls, and risk mitigation.
Ability to build relationships across diverse structures and with regulators.
Excellent communication skills to convey complex topics clearly.
Strong leadership and change management capabilities.
Relevant degree with advanced qualifications preferred (MBA, MSc, PhD).
Logical reasoning and analytical skills for decision-making.
Certifications in data or risk management are desirable.
