Systems Administrator - Cross Domain | Linux | Automation | Secure Infrastructure

• Day Rate - £500
• Location - Farnborough (Hybrid)
• iR35 determination - Outside
• Duration - 6 months initial

We're supporting the development of a modernised managed service platform that replaces a complex Legacy enterprise estate with a secure, automated, multi-tenant private cloud. This initiative calls for strong system-level expertise, particularly in environments with strict data segregation and high assurance controls.

We're looking for a capable Systems Administrator who can help define, automate, and secure infrastructure processes - with a particular focus on cross-domain technologies and the associated data handling mechanisms.

Role Overview

• Define and streamline structured data exchange processes for inter-domain transfers (IMPEX)

• Configure and maintain assured boundary control mechanisms

• Ensure platform and service components are aligned with best practice security frameworks

• Support automation of operational tasks and infrastructure configuration

• Maintain accurate documentation including system diagrams, configuration guides and SOPs

What You'll Bring

Essential knowledge:

• Scripting ability (eg, Bash, Python or similar) for automation and process handling

• Background in Linux system administration at an enterprise level

• Experience building or contributing to detailed infrastructure-level designs

• Understanding of secure infrastructure operations

Bonus experience:

• Exposure to data diode or assured control products

• Familiarity with secure-by-default design methodologies

• Working knowledge of file/object storage, backup strategies, and high-availability setups
