Role

We are seeking a developer/tester to support and enhance Internal Applications within Tax Administration.

The role focuses on maintaining live services, supporting batch processing, and delivering controlled change in a complex enterprise environment.

Hybrid working team with ability to travel regularly to Telford for team collaboration.

Essential Skills & Experience

Experience developing and supporting Java applications.
Oracle SQL skills, including writing and supporting queries.
Experience using Gitlab for version control within controlled release processes.
Experience working with containerised platforms, including Kubernetes.

Ways of Working

Delivery focused with strong ownership of live service incidents.

Hands-on experience working with WebLogic application Servers.
Comfortable balancing BAU support with change and continuous improvement.
Collaborative, pragmatic, and able to work across complex application landscapes.

Nice to Have

Experience with Shell Scripting to support operational or batch activities.

Build and dependency management experience using Maven.
Comfortable working in Linux environments and using command line tools.

Experience with manual end to end testing and documentation creation.
