Senior Java Developer

Java Developer sought by UK SaaS technology company, scaling at pace & looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join small, yet experienced team to lead from the front on new feature development.

Your coding will influence thousands of users across our platform & we love to innovate by giving our development team the ability to make & influence architectural decisions.

Location: HQ is in Oxfordshire, but this role & the team can & do operate remotely if needed. You’d need to be open to some office visits in the Oxford area though. So anywhere around the London or Home counties area is suitable.

Salary: £60K Basic + Benefits package

In the main we just need a strong Java coding software engineer, with Spring Boot framework & AWS, who is ok with mentoring a small team. But, to give you some idea of things you may bring, or use with us, see below:

 - Lead & mentor a small development team. You may have some experience already, or a want to progress in your career to a more senior / lead type role.

 - Proven experience in designing and building scalable, and maintainable applications using Java (Java 8+, with experience or a strong desire to work with Java 21) and Spring Boot.

 - Understanding and hands-on experience with a range of core AWS services

 - Software Development Best Practices: A strong commitment to writing clean, well-tested, secure, and maintainable code. Proficient with Git and CI/CD pipelines.

Desirable / you will get into: 

 - Experience working with teams in building web applications using React and/or JavaScript on the client-side.

 - Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker & IaC tools like AWS CloudFormation.
