Key Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of a Programme Manager and an approved strategic IT change programme to deliver a range of IT infrastructure projects.
- Work within agreed project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet programme expectations.
- Develop detailed project plans, including goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Manage project scope and changes, and coordinate project staff and internal/external resources and suppliers.
- Assign tasks to project team members and monitor project progress regularly.
- Communicate project progress to the programme manager and provide regular updates.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks or issues, and devise contingency plans, escalating to the Programme Manager and seeking advice appropriately as required.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on-time, and within agreed scope and budget.
- Prepare project documentation, including briefs, project plans, and post-project reports.
- Work closely with the team and stakeholders to remove roadblocks and keep the project moving forward.
- Conduct post-project evaluation and identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Extensive experience in managing IT infrastructure projects, ideally in the public sector.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proactive and experienced in working in complex programme environments.
- Ability to apply excellent judgement in terms of risk and issue escalation to keep projects on track.
- Hands-on experience with project management software, such as MS Projects.
- Familiarity with network modernisation, hosting environment change, and IT simplification exercises.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Strong communication and team management skills.
