We’re looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to play a central role in a major transformation programme focused on modernising underwriting capabilities within the London Market.

This is a high-impact opportunity to shape how underwriters work day-to-day through the delivery of a strategic Underwriting Workbench programme.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Business Analysis & Testing Services, you’ll lead business analysis across the full lifecycle of a complex transformation initiative.

You’ll work directly with underwriters, operational stakeholders, and technology teams to define, design, and deliver future underwriting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business analysis activities across the Underwriting Workbench programme
  • Partner with Underwriters to understand workflows, challenges, and strategic goals
  • Elicit, analyse, and document complex requirements with full traceability
  • Shape the target operating model for future underwriting capabilities
  • Facilitate workshops with senior underwriting and business stakeholders
  • Translate London Market processes (placement, binding, endorsements, renewals, delegated authority) into system and data requirements
  • Collaborate with Architecture and Technology teams to align with enterprise strategy
  • Support vendor selection, implementation, and configuration
  • Drive process optimisation, automation, and data quality improvements
  • Ensure compliance with Lloyd’s and market standards (e.g. messaging, reporting)
  • Mentor junior Business Analysts where required

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst within the London Market insurance sector
  • Deep understanding of underwriting processes across the policy lifecycle
  • Experience with underwriting platforms, workbench implementations, or core system transformations
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale change in complex environments
  • Experience working directly with senior underwriters and business leadership
  • Strong knowledge of the London Market ecosystem (Lloyd’s, brokers, coverholders, delegated authority, bordereaux, PPL)
  • Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery frameworks
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
