Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Developer - OpenShift Virtualization

Job Title: Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Developer - OpenShift Virtualization

Location: Sheffield (Hybrid 3x days a week onsite)

Duration: 6 months + Extension

THIS PROJECT IS INSIDE IR35

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for OpenShift Virtualization using Terraform and Ansible

• Automate provisioning and life cycle management of OpenShift clusters and virtual workloads

• Build and maintain reusable IaC modules/playbooks to support scalable infrastructure deployments

• Work closely with DevOps, Infrastructure, and Cloud teams to integrate IaC with CI/CD pipelines

• Monitor and optimise virtualised workloads and clusters for performance and reliability

• Ensure all implementations follow security and compliance best practices

• Produce high-quality documentation covering processes, standards, and playbooks

Required Skills (Mandatory):

• 7+ years experience with IaC tools (eg Terraform, Ansible)

• 3+ years hands-on experience with OpenShift Virtualization and Kubernetes

• Strong Scripting (Bash, Python)

• Experience with CI/CD tools (eg Jenkins, GitLab, ArgoCD)

• Solid understanding of networking, storage, and virtualisation concepts

• Familiarity with Git version control

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Security best practices for virtualised and containerised environments

Bonus Skills:

• Experience in hybrid cloud deployments

• Collaborative development workflows using GitOps

• Strong documentation habits and ability to work in fast-paced environments
