Job Title: OpenShift & KVM Administrator

Location: Sheffield (Hybrid - 3 days/week onsite)

Duration: 6 months + Extension

THIS PROJECT IS INSIDE IR35

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain KVM-based virtualisation environments

• Deploy, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot OpenShift clusters in on-prem and hybrid cloud setups

• Administer networking, storage, and security configurations for OpenShift

• Implement monitoring and performance tuning using Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack

• Perform regular patching and upgrades for OpenShift clusters

• Collaborate with internal teams to integrate infrastructure and applications

• Create and maintain documentation and best practices

Required Skills (Mandatory):

• 7+ years in IT infrastructure with focus on Linux, KVM, and containerised environments

• Strong KVM experience - provisioning, performance tuning, security

• OpenShift administration - install, config, troubleshooting

• Linux system administration and Shell Scripting (Bash, Python)

• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerisation principles

• Understanding of networking, persistent storage, and security in virtualised environments

• Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps pipelines

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK

• Documentation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across teams
