Security Architect
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Lead Security engineers with deep expertise across the Microsoft security ecosystem, particularly Azure, Microsoft 365, and the Defender suite. This is a strategic technical leadership role that combines architecture, engineering, and incident-response sensibilities in a complex, high-assurance environment.
You will be responsible for designing and evolving our enterprise security infrastructure, providing technical direction across a diverse portfolio of tooling, and acting as a technical escalation point for engineers and analysts. You will also have indirect line 3responsibility for a small team of security engineers and SOC analysts.
This role is Embedded within an organisation that forms a vital part of Europe's Critical National Infrastructure, and therefore requires the highest levels of professionalism, accountability, and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the technical lead and subject matter expert for Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud, Defender for Identity, Defender for Cloud Apps, Microsoft Sentinel, and broader Azure/M365 security services
Own the architecture and life cycle management of security platforms including but not limited to:
Microsoft Security Suite (Defender stack, Azure Security Centre)
Tenable (Vulnerability Management)
AlgoSec (Firewall Policy Management)
SentinelOne (EDR)
Exabeam/LogRhythm (SIEM)
Swimlane (SOAR)
Design and maintain scalable, resilient, and compliant security infrastructure across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments
Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to embed security into DevOps, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS operations
Lead solution selection, vendor engagement, and product roadmap activities for security tooling
Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and quality oversight to engineers and SOC analysts
Contribute to incident response planning and act as a senior escalation point during critical security events
