Contract SAP Data Migration Consultant needed - DV Cleared
Location: Aldermaston (4 days onsite / 1 day remote)
Clearance: Active DV Required (UK Nationals Only)
Duration/Start: 6 months initially (high likelihood of extension) / ASAP
We are seeking an experienced SAP Data Migration Lead to drive the data strategy and end-to-end migration workstream for a major greenfield SAP S/4HANA transformation . You'll oversee legacy-to-SAP migration using SAP Data Services (BODS) and Migration Cockpit , owning the full migration lifecycle, leading a development team, and working closely with functional and business stakeholders.
This role is hands-on from a leadership and solutioning perspective - ideal for someone who understands migration at a deep technical and strategic level, with the ability to mentor, guide, and get involved in design/development discussions where required.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead full data migration lifecycle: strategy, planning, extraction, mapping, validation, load & reconciliation
Oversee migration from legacy systems into SAP S/4HANA using Data Services & Migration Cockpit
Build, lead, and mentor a data migration development team
Own data migration project governance, timelines, risk management & defect resolution
Run data workshops and explain data concepts clearly across both technical & business audiences
Define and review technical migration documentation & data models
Analyse complex source datasets and advise on data cleansing & transformation requirements
Collaborate with functional SMEs & business data stewards to ensure clean, accurate data loads
Provide expert guidance and troubleshoot development challenges as an escalation point
Proven experience as a Data Migration Lead on SAP S/4HANA greenfield programmes
Deep knowledge of end-to-end SAP data migration lifecycle & methodologies
Hands-on experience with SAP Data Services (BODS) and Migration Cockpit
Strong ability to lead, mentor, and guide a technical team (without needing to code full-time)
Solid understanding of legacy data structures, mapping, transformation & reconciliation
Experience engaging with business stakeholders on data ownership, cleansing, and validation
Confident workshop facilitator and clear communicator across all technical levels
Strong documentation and defect management skills
Active DV clearance - essential
Ability to work onsite 4 days per week - non-negotiable
