Product Manager

Role: Lead Product Manager

Location: London, Bristol, or Manchester (Hybrid; 2 days per week in office)

Travel: 3 times per month fully expensed overnight trips to operational delivery hubs (e.g. Swansea/Birmingham)

Length: 12 Months initial contract

Status: £750 p/d Inside IR35

Clearance: BPSS (Standard DBS check; no SC required)

We are recruiting a Lead Product Manager / Product Lead on behalf of a central government department.

Key Responsibilities

• Whole-Service Design: Look across policy, tech, and operations to improve customer journeys rather than focusing solely on isolated features.
• Delivery & Prioritisation: Set clear roadmaps using user feedback and operational data, working in multi-disciplinary Agile teams to keep delivery on track.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with cross-departmental teams, operational managers, and senior leaders to solve blockers and align priorities.
• Delivery Support: Partner closely with delivery and project support colleagues to maintain team velocity and momentum.

What We're Looking For

• Proven track record taking products from pre-launch through to live rollout and scaling within complex or regulated environments.
• A background in public sector services, central government, or high-scale commercial operations (such as modern digital utilities, fintech, or fast-paced digital platforms).
• Strong grounding in Agile ways of working, with the ability to bridge product strategy and day-to-day delivery.
• Confident, pragmatic communicator able to question requirements constructively and build trust with senior stakeholders.
• Exposure to GDS standards, NewCo delivery setups, or Microsoft Dynamics is advantageous.
