Data Coach

Blended, with in-person days in Oxford · Starts October 2026 · NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Data

You know data analysis because you've done it — and somewhere along the way you found you were the person who could make it land for someone who hadn't. The dashboard that finally made sense; the "so what" a stakeholder actually needed. This is that, for ten weeks: mostly online, plus the in-person days in Oxford where it really clicks, with a cohort of career-changers who want what you already have.

You'll deliver our NCFE Level 3 Certificate in Data as a 10-week bootcamp — blended, from prepared session packs — and carry the cohort from first session to final submission.

About iO-Sphere

We train people to do things with data and AI, not just learn about them. Learners work on real problems — including in Prism, a simulated business we built on 500 million rows of real data. 900+ people have trained with us, we're rated 4.8 on Google, and we're one of the UK's fastest-growing data and AI training startups. Teams at PwC, BAE Systems, Dunelm, Motorway and CBRE send us their people.

We're a startup, so how we coach isn't finished — and we'd want you helping build it. The people who improve how we do this are the ones deepest in it.

What you'll do

  • Deliver the programme from prepared session packs — live online sessions plus roughly 6–10 in-person days in Oxford across the 10 weeks
  • Run drop-ins, office hours and one-to-ones so nobody quietly falls behind
  • Run onboarding (suitability) conversations with new joiners and offboarding/exit interviews as learners complete or move on
  • Put learners' additional learning support (ALS) plans into practice and teach inclusively, so everyone can access the material whatever their starting point
  • Mark NCFE unit submissions using our AI-assisted flow in iO Academy: review the AI-drafted feedback, make the final judgement against each criterion, and write feedback learners can act on
  • Watch pace, not just completion — flag anyone at risk early to the Delivery and Quality teams
  • Run and document interventions when a learner needs support, and keep it all logged and up to date in Aptem — ALS plans, interventions, contact and progress — to the standard a regulated, inspected provider needs
  • Provide information, advice and guidance (IAG) on progress and next steps, and support learners with CVs, portfolios and interview prep as they move towards data roles

What we're looking for

  • Hands-on experience with Excel, SQL and at least one BI tool (Power BI, Tableau or similar)
  • Real data analysis experience — work, study or serious projects
  • Confident teaching technical ideas to people from non-technical backgrounds
  • Patient, organised, and genuinely energised by other people getting good at something
  • A genuinely inclusive approach — you adapt so learners with different needs and starting points can all get there
  • AET Level 3 (Level 3 Award in Education and Training) or equivalent — or ready to complete it fast, before delivery starts (we fund it)
  • Able to be in Oxford for the in-person days across the programme (6-10 days)
  • Experience delivering Skills Bootcamps is ideal

The essentials

  • Fixed-term contract, roughly four months. Starts October 2026, through to the week after the programme ends
  • Blended: mostly online, with roughly 6–10 in-person days in Oxford across the programme
  • Pay: £11,500-£15000 for 4 months - £35k-45k annualised - under PAYE
  • Enhanced DBS, safeguarding and Prevent training, and the right to work in the UK (we can't offer sponsorship)
  • Progression: depending on programme volume when the contract ends, there's a genuine route into further bootcamp delivery, trainer, or apprenticeship coaching roles with iO-Sphere

Location: We're open to individuals remote across the UK. If you're in London we have our office where you can work with the team and the rest of the skills bootcamp team.

How we hire

A short screening call, a conversation with the delivery team you'd work with, and a practical task drawn from real delivery or marking rather than an invented puzzle. We move quickly — we need people ready for October.
