We’re expanding our learner support function and hiring a Learning Support Coach to help working professionals stay motivated, overcome blockers, and succeed across our skills-levy funded Data & AI programmes. You’ll be the steady hand, the motivator, and the structured support system helping adults change their careers and their lives.

🔧 Key Responsibilities
You’ll provide tailored academic, organisational, and pastoral support to help learners stay on track and succeed across their upskilling journey.
Learner Support & Success
- Provide 1:1 support for working professionals needing help with organisation, study skills, time management, accountability, or confidence
- Help learners interpret feedback and improve the clarity and quality of their submissions and reflections
- Support learners in building strong working habits, hitting milestones, and staying engaged
- Run wellbeing and motivation check-ins that keep learners moving forward
- Identify at-risk learners early and intervene with structured, supportive action plans
Academic & Skills Development
- Teach core learning skills such as note-taking, planning, communication, reflective practice, and prioritisation
- Coach learners through foundational digital concepts (no technical teaching required)
- Help learners understand assessment expectations and what “good” looks like
- Support learners preparing for their final gateway and assessments with confidence
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Track progress using Aptem dashboards and learner analytics
- Maintain clear, accurate records of support sessions and interventions
- Escalate safeguarding or wellbeing issues promptly and appropriately
- Work alongside Skills Coaches during progress reviews to support learner development
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work with Technical Coaches, Career Coaches, and Quality teams to create a unified learner experience
- Share insights into learner barriers so we can refine curriculum and delivery
- Support onboarding to ensure new learners integrate smoothly
- Help build a supportive, energising learner community across cohorts
🎯 Your First 90 Days
- Deliver consistent, high-quality support sessions across multiple cohorts
- Build support plans for learners with additional needs
- Achieve 100 percent accuracy on core Aptem records
- Establish deep understanding of our programme structures and learner journeys
- Create strong rhythms and communication loops with Technical Coaches
- Support enrichment, interventions, and engagement activities
🧠 You’ll Succeed Here If You Already Have
Experience
- Background supporting adult learners in any of the following: apprenticeships, adult education, HE, bootcamps, corporate learning, or similar
- Experience with coaching, mentoring, case management, pastoral support, or learner success
- Experience supporting people who are changing careers or upskilling
Skills & Mindset
- Warm, calm, structured coaching style
- Strong communicator who can motivate struggling learners
- Excellent organisational skills — able to manage multiple learners without dropping details
- Solutions-focused, compassionate, and adaptable
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, innovative environment
- Familiarity with Aptem or similar MIS systems (nice to have, not essential)
