Principal Oracle Consultant

Principal Professional Services Engineer | Enterprise Architecture | Remote (UK)

We're adding a Principal Professional Services Engineer to a senior consulting team that partners with customers on complex infrastructure and cloud initiatives. This is not a support or operations role. Instead, you'll be trusted to architect solutions, influence technical direction, and deliver outcomes across database platforms and modern cloud environments.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading architecture and design efforts for enterprise-scale database and infrastructure solutions
  • Acting as a technical advisor to clients, translating business needs into scalable, resilient systems
  • Designing high-availability and performance-driven environments across on-prem and cloud platforms
  • Collaborating with sales and delivery teams in a revenue-driving consulting capacity
  • Supporting implementations at an architectural level—without owning production support

What We're Looking For

  • A seasoned Oracle professional (10+ years) with strong infrastructure and architecture depth
  • Experience owning full solution designs rather than isolated components
  • Background in consulting or professional services (large consultancies or enterprise vendors preferred)
  • Hands-on exposure to platforms such as Oracle RAC, Exadata, and similar high-performance systems
  • Practical cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) spanning multiple years
  • Ability to script and automate using tools like Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Perl
  • Strong client communication skills—you're comfortable presenting, advising, and influencing

Additional Experience That Stands Out

  • Troubleshooting across networking and storage layers (DNS, firewalls, SAN/NFS performance)
  • Working knowledge of other database technologies (Postgres, SQL Server, MongoDB)
  • Familiarity with data governance, masking, and regulatory frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA)
  • Systems administration experience in Linux/UNIX or Windows environments
  • Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid architectures

Why Join?

  • Base salary up to £110,000
  • 20% bonus, paid reliably each quarter
  • Fully remote role with minimal travel (up to 10%)
  • Strong benefits and long-term career growth potential
  • Preference for London-based professionals, but open across the UK

This role is ideal for engineers who want to stay technical while operating at a strategic, architectural level—without being tied to on-call rotations or support queues.
