Desktop Support Engineer – Field Service & Workshop (Secure Site)
Location: Clyde, UK
Duration: ASAP - 1 year
Rate: £19/hr(Inside IR35) Via Umb
Clearance: Active SC Clearance or eligible to obtain
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Engineer to provide hands-on IT support within a secure environment, covering field service, workshop repairs, and asset management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and update service desk tickets, ensuring SLA compliance
- Perform hardware diagnostics, break/fix repairs (laptops & desktops)
- Manage IT asset stock, including in/out scanning and tracking
- Support vendor liaison for warranty repairs and parts
- Carry out secure disposal and locker replenishment tasks
- Identify and escalate service issues or improvements
Requirements
- SC clearance (or eligibility to obtain)
- Full clean UK driving licence
- 2+ years’ experience in PC field service or workshop environment
- Strong hardware troubleshooting and repair skills
- Willingness to join out-of-hours/standby rota
- HP/Dell accreditation (or willingness to train)
