Are you an experienced Project Manager seeking your next contract role with real purpose? Join a mission-led organisation at the heart of tackling uninsured and hit-and-run driving — helping victims rebuild their lives and working in partnership with government, insurers and police to make roads safer for all.

Each year, this organisation provides support to tens of thousands of people affected by uninsured and hit-and-run drivers, delivering over £400 million in compensation. The work they do changes lives — and this is your opportunity to play a key role in delivering that impact.

The Role

As Project Manager, you’ll lead the successful delivery of change and technology projects, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals. Acting as a key enabler between technical and non-technical teams, you’ll bring clarity, structure and leadership to guide teams through delivery.

Working closely with Product Owners and Transformation Leaders, you will navigate complexity, manage risk, and ensure high-quality outcomes that meet user needs. This role will suit someone comfortable balancing agile practices with sound project governance in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.

  • Act as a central point of coordination across cross-functional teams, ensuring visibility and accountability throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate risks and dependencies while tracking project health through realistic plans and transparent reporting.
  • Ensure appropriate quality reviews are conducted and that all governance standards are followed.
  • Lead post-project reviews, capturing lessons learned and ensuring benefits tracking is established.
  • Support business readiness through robust implementation and transition planning.
  • Maintain a strong focus on delivering high-quality, customer-centric outcomes at every sprint.
  • Champion best practice and foster a collaborative, inclusive culture within delivery teams.

What You’ll Bring

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Prince2, Agile Scrum Master, Unified Process) and experience of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of project governance, systems development lifecycles, and agile practices including Scrum, Kanban, and adaptive planning.
  • Experience operating within complex organisations, ideally in insurance or similar regulated industries.
  • Effective communicator, capable of influencing stakeholders and managing third-party suppliers with professionalism.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects and motivate teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques such as sprint design, retrospectives, use cases, requirements management and traceability.
