Lead Test Engineer (Remote, UK)

My client, a healthcare provider, are looking for a Lead Test Engineer to take ownership of their automation capability and drive the next phase of their quality journey. You'll lead and evolve their Playwright-based automation framework, improving coverage, reliability, and integration into the CI/CD pipelines. Working closely with engineers and QA, you'll shape testing strategy across UI, APIs, and services—while mentoring others to grow their automation skills.You will be expected to  

• Own and expand the automated testing suite (Playwright).
• Improve test stability, speed, and reporting.
• Define testing approaches for new features and systems.
• Integrate automation into CI/CD (Azure DevOps).
• Support defect triage and root cause analysis.
• Coach QA team members in automation best practices.

You will have

• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and UI automation.
• Solid understanding of modern test strategy (UI, API, integration).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (ideally Azure DevOps).
• Comfortable working across .NET backends and modern frontends.
• A proactive, pragmatic, and self-driven approach.
• Experience mentoring or influencing QA practices.
• A knowledge and/or willingness to utilise AI within the role.
