Principal React Front-End Engineer
A Principal React Front-End Engineer is required on a fully remote 12month FTC to provide technical leadership for customer-facing web platforms at a leading UK healthcare organisation. This role is ideal for a senior engineer who combines deep React expertise with architectural vision and the ability to influence teams at scale. You will take ownership of front-end strategy across a modernising platform used daily by customers, shaping how React, TypeScript, and micro front-end architecture are applied as the organisation expands internationally and invests heavily in engineering excellence. - Set technical direction for large-scale React applications, ensuring long-term scalability and maintainability.
- Act as a hands-on technical leader, mentoring engineers and raising front-end engineering standards.
- Drive improvements in performance, resilience, accessibility, and developer experience across teams.
- Partner closely with architects, product leaders, UX, and DevOps to align front-end strategy with business goals.
- Influence best practices around testing, CI/CD, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript patterns.
- Strong command of modern React patterns (hooks, state management, testing, and application architecture).
- Experience designing scalable front-end platforms using TypeScript, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- A pragmatic, strategic mindset with the confidence to challenge, guide, and improve engineering outcomes.
