Product Owner Trading & Re-Engineering

Location: Fully Remote (1 day per month in London, self-funded) Salary: Up to £70,000 + up to 15% bonus + 10% pension + 30 days holidayA high-growth fintech is seeking an experienced Product Owner with a trading and re-engineering mindset to drive the next evolution of their trading platforms. This role sits at the intersection of product leadership, back-end engineering, and domain-driven design, offering you the chance to make tangible impact across a complex, fast-paced environment.The Company Operating at the forefront of fintech innovation, this organisation is transitioning from a product-led to a domain-focused model. You'll join a team of 8 Product Owners and 4 Business Analysts collaborating across 8 Agile Development Squads who build and automate services using PHP, Golang, AWS, and Python.The Role You will take ownership of a key trading and re-engineering programme, managing priorities, streamlining functionality, and supporting back-end engineering initiatives to improve performance, stability, and scalability across trading systems.Key responsibilities include:
  • Defining and delivering epics and user stories aligned with trading and engineering objectives.
  • Owning backlog management, ensuring priorities reflect business value and technical feasibility.
  • Collaborating closely with engineers and stakeholders to translate trading workflows into logical, technical requirements.
  • Tracking metrics and KPIs to drive continuous improvement and re-engineering efficiencies.
  • Partnering with Business Analysts to clarify requirements and dependencies across systems.
  • Fostering a logical, data-led mindset to make informed prioritisation and design decisions.
What You'll Bring
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner within a trading or financial markets environment.
  • Strong understanding of back-end engineering concepts, ideally working alongside developers in PHP, Golang, or AWS.
  • Excellent capability in managing product backlogs, writing user stories, and defining epics.
  • Ability to interpret complex trading processes and identify where automation or re-engineering adds value.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on performance, data, and outcome-based delivery.
  • Comfortable working in a remote-first, fast-moving environment with occasional monthly collaboration days in London.
