Systems Engineer – Leading Edge 5G Networks - Core Mobile Network Technologies

Berks/Surrey Borders – some remote - UK & International Travel

Base Salary - £55 - 65K + Benefits

The Role

• Scope, design and deployment of 5G standalone core network solutions in a number of verticals, including Defence, Industry 4.0, Energy and Maritime sectors
• Deployment of OSS / Service Assurance monitoring solutions, and configuration of security services to support the core
• Interface and manage third party vendors, participating in the vendor selection process to support the end-to-end network solution when required
• Contribute to product development and project roll-out
• Act as a 5G network SME, providing technical input to the Development, RAN Engineering and IT teams
• Contribute to the creation of operational processes within a young and growing technology business

You will have experience/exposure to a majority of the following

• 2+ years of experience in designing, building, deploying and supporting 5G Mobile core network technologies
• Experience of running high-availability cloud based telecoms solutions
• Linux systems – experience of managing and deploying
• Exposure to multiple cloud platforms, AWS, GCP, Azure ..
• Knowledge oi IP network architecture, routing, security and protocols, MPLS, BGP, OSPF etc.
• Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD pipeline tools, Jenkins, Gitlab or similar
• Scripting – Bash, Python or Perl and some experience/exposure to IaC tools such as Ansible or Terraform
• Exposure to containerisation and orchestration platforms eg. Kubernetes and Docker
• Ability to travel – UK (driving licence required) and international
