Data Lead | Data Strategy & AI Transformation | £90k-£105k | London Hybrid
A rare one this.
A tech-first security company with critical national infrastructure contracts, their own platform, and genuine ambition is looking for a Data Lead to own their entire data function and shape where it goes next.
The business is data-rich. The strategy just hasn't kept pace. There's a capable team in place (senior BI engineer, BI developer, ETL engineer) who need direction, a stack being modernised, and a clear vision to move from output-focused reporting to genuinely actionable client intelligence.
The immediate job is consolidating a bloated reporting estate and getting the foundations right.
The bigger opportunity is already mapped out and waiting for the right person to execute: converged product reporting, self-serve analytics, NLQ, AI-powered security insights.
This is a business actively building an AI-first data function. They're already on that journey and they need someone who is genuinely excited about where AI is taking data, has a clear vision for it, and wants to be at the forefront of it rather than catching up.
If you're future-facing and hungry to build something modern from the ground up, this is the role.
This role reports into the CTO. The expectation is that within three to five years, you're operating at CDO level.
What they need: someone who's owned data at an SME/Scale Up/Start Up, can lead a team and a strategy, has AI and modern data credentials, and isn't precious about rolling their sleeves up when needed.
The stack:
- Snowflake (data warehouse)
- dbt / Airbyte (migrating from Matillion)
- Power BI, Klipfolio
- AWS, Postgres, Kafka across the wider tech team
- Python and/or practical LLM experience is a strong advantage
The package:
- £90k-£105k base
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
