Job Title: Deep Learning Researcher

Location: London or Cambridge, UK

Type: Permanent

Our client are an international semiconductor company.

Responsibilities:

Lead engineering efforts on complex research projects in machine learning and artificial intelligence

Optimize algorithms and ensure the scalability and robustness of research prototypes and systems

Coordinate closely with researchers to align engineering work with research objectives and project goals

Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and research staff

Contribute to technical publications and assist in preparing research documentation

Maintain and improve research infrastructure, tools, and workflows

Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI, engineering best practices, and related fields

Requirements:

PhD in Computer Science or related subject

Track record of contributing to top publications or open-source projects

Extensive experience researching machine learning algorithms and systems

Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar

Proven ability to lead engineering projects and work both independently and collaboratively

Experience mentoring junior engineers or technical staff

Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities, including technical documentation

Experience with optimization, reinforcement learning, and/or large language models (LLMs)

Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX)

Experience with scalable system design and deployment in research or production environments

Exposure to chip design or applied AI research
