You are not being hired because you understand fraud. You are being hired to build the system that fraud experts use. Half of what you will build has never been built before. The other half requires imagination, serious machine learning thinking, and the ability to work comfortably in uncharted waters. Both halves matter enormously.

The Opportunity

Out of the successful launch of a world-class consumer banking platform in 2021, a new team formed with a new mission. That mission is yours to help deliver. This is a fully backed technology accelerator, incubated inside one of the world's most powerful financial institutions, building at startup speed on a next-generation cloud platform.

The team is in stealth mode. Flat structure. Culture-heavy, process-light. You work as part of focused tribes and squads, close to the doing and close to the decision-making. The product you will build will eventually power fraud detection for tens of millions of active customers globally.

This is a senior individual contributor role. You will be driving early, material product decisions on a greenfield AI/ML-centric fraud risk platform, spanning reactive fraud detection and proactive fraud prevention. You will not be managing a team from day one. What you will be doing is shaping the architecture of something that has never been built quite like this before.

What You Will Be Doing

Greenfield AI/ML Product Direction: You will define the strategy, roadmap, and prioritisation for a zero-to-one fraud risk product, delivering capabilities across workflow orchestration, data integration, model development, and case management.

Building: You will architect and ship real-time systems that detect events, enrich them, and execute rules-based machine learning models at systemic speed and scale.

First Principles Problem Solving: You will break down genuinely hard problems from scratch. The known half of this product needs sharp prioritisation and disciplined delivery. The unknown half needs imagination, scenario thinking, and comfort operating in uncharted territory.

Agentic and LLM Thinking: You will bring experience with agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and large language models to solve real-world fraud challenges in ways that go beyond traditional rules engines.

Exceptional Communication: Written clarity is a core part of the culture here. The team values people who are economical with their time and precise with their opinions. Your documentation will need to be as sharp as your product instincts.

Engineering Partnership: You will ship with care and quality alongside elite engineering teams, working as a true peer to drive technical and product alignment in a highly regulated environment.

What We Are Looking For

Zero-to-One B2B DNA: You have shipped complex B2B products or infrastructure-heavy platforms from a blank page. This is non-negotiable.

Fraud and Decisioning Experience: You have hands-on experience building fraud, dynamic assessment, or real-time decisioning products. Critically, you build the platforms that fraud experts use, not the fraud expertise itself.

Technical Depth: You have built underlying data platforms, ML model environments, or real-time decisioning infrastructure. You think in APIs and backend architecture, not consumer UIs.

Curiosity and Craft: You have a genuine bias toward quality, a head for fintech, and you thrive when things change quickly and require you to learn fast.

Seniority Without the Politics: You have Executive or VP-level seniority but prefer craft over corporate process. You roll up your sleeves. You are low on politics and high on conviction.

Structure: Senior individual contributor. No immediate people management, though this may evolve as the platform scales.
