GIS Solutions Architect
The Role:
As a GIS Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise GIS architectures using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and Utility Network. Your role involves creating scalable, secure, and client-specific solutions for Utility Network migrations, including topology, tracing, editing, and network rule management. You will oversee data migration strategies from legacy systems to ESRI models, ensuring data quality, system performance, and consistency. Engaging with clients and stakeholders, youll lead technical workshops and design sessions, effectively communicating strategies and roadmaps while collaborating with project teams to ensure scope, schedule, and budget alignment.
Key Responsibilities:
You will guide the deployment of ESRI Desktop, Web, and Mobile solutions, ensuring they meet design standards and integrate seamlessly with other enterprise systems such as OMS, WMS, SCADA, SAP, and Maximo. Additionally, you will provide infrastructure guidance for cloud, hybrid, or on-premise deployments, support DevOps practices, and produce detailed documentation to ensure governance and maintainability. Staying abreast of ESRI product updates and industry trends, you will develop innovative accelerators and solutions to support digital twin initiatives, lead industry workshops, and develop proposals for new opportunities.
- Design enterprise GIS architectures with ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise, and Utility Network.
- Lead complex data migrations ensuring quality, performance, and model consistency.
- Conduct technical workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions.
- Guide deployment of ESRI Desktop, Web, and Mobile applications.
- Define system integrations with enterprise platforms like OMS, WMS, SCADA, and ERP.
- Support cloud and hybrid deployment strategies, including CI/CD automation.
- Drive innovation through product updates, accelerators, and industry thought leadership.
Qualifications and Experience:
We are looking for a highly experienced GIS Solution Architect with over five years in the field, including at least two years focused on Utility Network projects. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and Utility Network data models, along with strong skills in data modelling, ETL tools like FME and Python, and versioned workflows.
Experience with utility system integrations such as asset management and outage systems is essential, ideally gained through work with or alongside Systems Integrators or consultancies in the water, gas, or electric utilities sector. Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, or hybrid delivery approaches is important, as is the ability to solve complex problems, translate business needs into scalable solutions, and communicate effectively with both technical teams and executives. The right candidate will be self-motivated, results-driven, and well-disciplined in managing their workload and priorities.
- 5+ years as a GIS Solution Architect, with 2+ years in Utility Network projects
- Expertise in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and Utility Network data models
- Strong skills in data modelling, ETL tools (FME, Python), and versioned workflows
- Experience with utility system integrations (asset, outage, customer service)
- Background working with or alongside Systems Integrators in utilities (water, gas, electric)
