Senior Software Engineer (Sports Feed Domain)
pawaTech is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with passion for teamwork and a collaborative mind. As part of the Sports Feed team, you will be working on integrating sports data from third-party providers, reformatting and distributing that data to different internal systems, and building scalable services that support live event handling across our platform. The team handles one of the most critical parts of our Sportsbook product, ensuring sports content is accurate, timely, and processed under high load.
Compensation range: £5500 - £8000 full contractual monthly pay.

What you’ll be doing:
- Integrating with external sports data providers and distribute data across the platform;
- Reformatting data for betting and client interfaces;
- Designing and building scalable back-end services for the Sportsbook domain;
- Collaborating with teams to ensure accurate data allocation and smooth delivery;
- Writing integration tests and ensure code quality;
- Refactoring and optimising code for evolving business needs;
- Managing the sports content pipeline and handle format conversions for cross-team requests;
- Conducting regression testing to ensure system reliability.
What makes you a great candidate:
- Several years of experience with Java and the Spring framework;
- Proven experience of backend software development experience in gambling industry;
- Confident understanding of design patterns, algorithms, and data structures;
- High coding standards;
- Experience with any SQL (MySQL/ PostgreSQL);
- Team player with good communication skills.

- Experience with micro services and distributed systems;
- Experience with gRPC;
- Experience with RabbitMQ/ Kafka;
- Experience with Kubernetes.
