Purpose of the Role: Business Intelligence Anylyst

To play a crucial role in optimizing the efficiency, effectiveness, and financial management of our parking management and decriminalised enforcement services. To support the Parking Service with data led intelligence to improve the quality of life for the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s residents, businesses and visitors by ensuring smooth flow of traffic, efficient parking, and safe compliance with regulations. Additionally, you’ll lead on contract management and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) associated with our contractual obligations and supplier performance. You will also support the daily operation, routines management and system interrogation of systems associated with all our IT systems.

Responsibilities: Business Intelligence Anylyst

• To be responsible for the collation, cleansing and analysis of data related to parking violations, traffic patterns, and enforcement activities.
• Provide expert advice on the transformation of information from one format / medium to another and manipulate specific data from a variety of sources, to satisfy local or specific information needs.
• To lead and develop insightful reports, dashboards, and visualizations to provide actionable insights to staff, stakeholders, and service users.
• To identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement based on data analysis.
• To monitor Contractual Performance Indicators (CPIs) ensuring compliance with Service level Agreements (SLAs) and to highlight performance fluctuations and concerns.
• Select and apply appropriate and innovative analytical techniques to the Council’s and external partners’ data to create information which supports and enhances strategy development, business decision-making and service delivery.
• Summarise and present data and conclusions in the most appropriate format for users using textual, numeric, graphical and other visualisation methods appropriate to the target audience.
• Collaborate with cross functional operational teams to understand their needs and challenges.
• Interpret and identify patterns in data for a range of audiences, helping them understand potential conclusions and opportunities. Present confidently on your findings, suggesting next steps for the service.
• Translate data findings into actionable recommendations for process improvements.
• Provide strategic insights to enhance decision-making related to parking policies, enforcement strategies, and resource allocation.
• Consider air quality and road safety implications when proposing changes.
• Monitor revenue streams from parking fines, permits, and other related services.
• Assist in budget planning and financial forecasting for the parking management division.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and revenue enhancement strategies.
• To develop, define and track KPIs for parking enforcement and traffic management services.

To regularly assess the effectiveness of enforcement efforts and propose adjustments as needed, highlighting concerns to SMT when needed
