Content Designer - Actice SC Clearance Required
A specialist digital consultancy is seeking an experienced Content Designer to play a pivotal role in improving the clarity, usability and effectiveness of a complex, data-rich digital product used in high-stakes operational environments.
Location: Hybrid (London preferred) or remote within the UK
Start: Immediate
Duration: Initial 3 months, with strong likelihood of extension (6+ months)
Rate: £450 per day (Inside IR35)
Security Clearance: Active UK SC required
This is not a marketing or brand role. It is a hands-on opportunity for a content professional who understands how words function within a product guiding user behaviour, reducing friction, enabling confident decision-making and ensuring critical information is understood at speed.
Working within a multidisciplinary delivery team, the successful candidate will shape content across intricate user journeys where precision, consistency and accessibility are essential. In this environment, content decisions genuinely matter they have real-world impact.
The Role
The Product Content Designer will:
- Create and refine in-product content across complex workflows
- Write clear, concise interface copy including guidance, labels and error messages
- Translate technical or operational information into accessible language without diluting accuracy
- Collaborate closely with designers, researchers and product leads to ensure content supports user tasks and service outcomes
- Test, iterate and improve content using research insights and user feedback
- Contribute to the development of consistent content patterns and standards across the product

The ideal candidate will bring:
- Strong experience in product content design or UX writing
- A track record of working on complex, technical or data-driven digital products
- Experience within public sector, regulated or operational contexts (essential)
- Confidence operating within multidisciplinary delivery teams and navigating constraints
- A meticulous, user-first mindset
- Current, active UK Security Clearance (SC) — essential
