Service Designer Contract - SC Clearance Essential
Are you a Service Designer who enjoys untangling complex services, aligning multiple stakeholders and designing practical solutions in environments where evidence, governance and real-world constraints matter?
We're looking for a Service Designer to join a consultancy-led delivery team supporting a nationally important organisation responsible for critical services used across government, industry and the public.
This role suits someone who is comfortable working across strategy, delivery and operations - shaping services end-to-end in technically complex, regulated and data-driven contexts.
Role Details
- Location: Ideally hybrid (London) but open to remote with some client visits (typically around the South of England).
- Start Date: Likely mid-late February.
- Duration: 3+ months (likely to be at least 6 months).
- Rate: £500/day Inside IR35.
- Security Clearance: Current, active UK Security Clearance (SC) is essential .
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and mapping end-to-end services across digital, operational and organisational touchpoints.
- Leading service discovery and shaping phases, working closely with product, research, design and delivery colleagues.
- Identifying service pain points, dependencies and risks across people, process, technology and policy.
- Creating clear service artefacts such as service maps, blueprints, user journeys and operating models.
- Facilitating workshops and working sessions with multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders.
- Helping teams make evidence-based decisions in constrained, highly governed environments.
- Supporting delivery teams to move from insight and strategy into practical, implementable service design.
What You'll Bring
- Strong experience designing services within complex, multi-stakeholder or data-heavy environments.
- Confidence working across discovery, alpha and delivery phases.
- Experience in the public sector and/or regulated, operationally complex organisations (essential).
- Excellent facilitation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A pragmatic approach to service design, balancing user needs with organisational and technical realities.
- Current, active UK Security Clearance (SC) .
