The Role

We are looking for an experienced Content Designer to support Digital Channels programmes within the public sector. You will work across services including Report a Change Once (RACO), Customer Account, and the Government App & Wallet, helping design and improve content for citizens, applicants, and developers.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary Agile teams to understand user needs, redesign content structures, and deliver accessible, high-quality content aligned to GDS standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and benchmark existing content against GDS and accessibility standards

• Map user journeys and validate them with stakeholders

• Design clear, concise, and user-centred content

• Test and iterate content using user research and feedback

• Work closely with product, design, and development teams

• Support the development of content strategy, standards, and governance

• Deliver a structured handover to internal teams

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Proven experience as a Content Designer in digital, multidisciplinary teams

• Strong knowledge of GDS and GOV.UK content standards

• Experience using user research to inform content decisions

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

• Experience working in Agile environments

Desirable

• Experience with CMS and version control tools

• Public sector or regulated environment experience
