Role Description
As a Data Technical Architect, you will lead the design and governance of Google Cloud Platform data architecture. You will define scalable, secure and reusable data architecture patterns using services such as BigQuery, Cloud SQL and Cloud Composer. You will ensure interoperability, portability and alignment with multi-cloud considerations where required. You will embed strong data governance using Dataplex and Dataform, ensure compliance with GDPR and public sector security standards, and provide architectural assurance through appropriate governance forums. You will also play a key role in mentoring staff to build long-term architectural capability.
Preferred Tech Stack Expertise
Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Cloud Composer), Dataplex, Dataform, PostgreSQL, Apache Airflow, Terraform, API integrations, data modelling and warehousing principles
Responsibilities

Define and maintain target data architecture aligned to strategic objectives

Design secure and scalable data ingestion and transformation frameworks

Establish governance standards covering data quality, metadata and life cycle management

Provide architectural assurance across delivery teams and contribute to design authority forums

Ensure compliance with security, privacy and regulatory requirements including GDPR

Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to embed Infrastructure as Code and automation

Lead knowledge transfer initiatives including workshops and mentoring for permanent staff
