About Scrumconnect Consulting

We are passionate about user-centred design, agile delivery, and building digital services that make a real difference. Our teams work at the forefront of innovation, helping organisations transform and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that truly matter.
Role Overview
We're looking for an organised, proactive Project Manager to plan and deliver projects for our UK government clients on time, within budget and to a high standard.
You'll build plans people can work to, stay ahead of risks and dependencies before they turn into problems, and keep stakeholders aligned across client departments, suppliers and our own teams. It's a hands-on role in structured, governed environments, so knowing how to work within the governance framework counts as much as running the plan.
Key Responsibilities
-
Lead projects from initiation through delivery to closure, working within the client's own governance and assurance processes.
-
Define scope, objectives, deliverables and timelines, and challenge scope that is vague, unfunded or unachievable before it is committed.
-
Build and maintain project plans, budgets and resource forecasts, and re-plan credibly when priorities, funding or dates change.
-
Own risk management for your projects: identify, assess and actively manage risks and issues, with clearly assigned mitigations.
-
Manage dependencies across teams, suppliers and client departments.
-
Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across client departments, suppliers and internal teams.
-
Communicate progress, risks and decisions clearly through regular reporting and governance forums.
-
Coordinate cross-functional teams and suppliers.
-
Manage changes to scope, cost or schedule through a clear change control process.
-
Run project meetings, such as kick-offs, stand-ups and retrospectives.
-
Capture lessons learned and use them to improve how we run projects.
Required Skills and Experience
-
Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a similar role, typically three years or more.
-
Strong planning and budgeting skills, including building and maintaining plans, budgets and resource forecasts that hold up under scrutiny.
-
Strong risk management skills, including identifying and quantifying risks, driving mitigations to completion and knowing when to escalate.
-
Excellent stakeholder management across client, supplier and internal audiences, with the confidence to hold a position under challenge.
-
Experience managing formal change control, including the commercial consequences of a change.
-
Confidence in using project management tools.
-
Ability to prioritise and stay calm under pressure.
-
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Desirable
-
Experience delivering projects in UK government or the wider public sector, within structured and governed environments.
-
Experience of public sector procurement, including buying routes.
-
A recognised qualification such as PRINCE2, APM PMQ, PMP or Agile/Scrum.
-
Familiarity with the GDS Service Manual and service assessments.
-
Experience working in blended, multi-supplier delivery teams.
-
Experience managing work across more than one client or department at the same time.
