Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support, maintain and optimise the BMC Helix platform suite and the AutoSys Workload Automation estate, providing hands-on infrastructure engineering expertise across critical tooling services.

This is a technical, delivery-focused role operating in structured and governed environments where service availability, stability and operational effectiveness are critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Support, maintain and optimise the BMC Helix suite, including Helix Operations Manager (BHOM), Helix Capacity Optimisation (BHCO) and Helix Discovery
• Maintain operational support for the AutoSys Workload Automation estate
• Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions supporting Flexera SaaS integration
• Contribute engineering expertise to keep strategic workstreams moving while maintaining BAU services
• Deliver service improvement activities to maximise value from the Helix implementation
• Support service availability, stability and operational effectiveness across tooling services
• Contribute to out-of-hours support arrangements and improve team resilience
• Participate in the out-of-hours support rota
• Work closely with operational teams, sharing knowledge and supporting less experienced engineers

Essential Skills & Experience

• Demonstrable experience of one or more of the following:
  • AutoSys Workload Automation (WLA)
  • BMC Helix Operations Manager (BHOM)
  • BMC Helix Capacity Optimisation (BHCO)
  • BMC Helix Discovery
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • DevOps engineering practices
• Experience of infrastructure support and engineering in enterprise or regulated environments
• Ability to work independently and support the development of more junior engineers
• Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours support rota
• Active SC clearance

Desirable

• Experience with the Flexera Software Asset Management platform
• Public-sector or large programme delivery experience
• Familiarity with GDS

Scope & Accountability

• Responsible for hands-on engineering, support and optimisation of the Helix and AutoSys platforms
• Owns the quality and accuracy of assigned engineering work and deliverables
• Contributes technical input and recommendations but does not hold final technical authority
• Works under the direction of a Lead Infrastructure Engineer
• Accountable for timely delivery of agreed service improvement and engineering activities
• Contributes to out-of-hours support arrangements and team resilience
