We're looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Learning Technology & Innovation to lead the next phase of our digital learning journey. This is a unique opportunity to drive strategic change across a growing apprenticeship and training organisation, leading the implementation of a new Learning Management System (LMS) while shaping the future learner experience through technology, data and digital innovation.

As a key member of the leadership team, you'll work across Operations, Quality, Curriculum, IT and Data functions to create a modern, scalable and engaging learning environment that improves outcomes for learners, employers and colleagues alike.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the implementation, integration and optimisation of a new LMS platform across the organisation.
  • Drive the transformation of learner and coach journeys, simplifying processes and improving user experience.
  • Develop a future-focused digital learning strategy aligned to organisational growth plans.
  • Enhance curriculum delivery through innovative learning design, blended learning approaches and technology-enabled solutions.
  • Identify and implement AI and digital tools that improve learner engagement, operational efficiency and reporting.
  • Lead learning technology governance, standards and best practice across the business.
  • Integrate systems and learner data to improve visibility, reporting and performance management.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external technology partners.
  • Develop a roadmap for future innovation, ensuring the organisation remains at the forefront of digital learning and educational technology.

About You

You'll be a strategic thinker with the ability to turn vision into action, bringing experience of leading technology-enabled transformation within education, apprenticeships or workplace learning environments.

Essential Experience

  • Leading LMS implementation and/or learning technology transformation projects.
  • Strong understanding of digital learning, learner experience and learning technologies.
  • Experience redesigning learner journeys, curriculum delivery or operational learning processes.
  • Strong project and change management skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across multiple business functions.
  • Experience using data and reporting to drive decision-making and performance improvement.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Passion for innovation, continuous improvement and learner success.

Desirable Experience

  • Apprenticeship LMS or ePortfolio systems.
  • Apprenticeship funding, compliance and learner review processes.
  • AI-enabled learning technologies and automation tools.
  • FE, apprenticeships or work-based learning sectors.
  • Learning design, blended learning and digital pedagogy.
  • Cross-functional business transformation programmes.
